Versapak Doping Control Ltd, a leading global designer, manufacturer and supplier of tamper evident solutions, is pleased to announce that its new urine transport kit has been independently tested by a third party worldwide authority with an ISO 17025 accredited testing facility. They concluded that the product is tamper evident and suited for the purposes of anti-doping.
The new, single use transport kit for A/B urine samples has been carefully designed and manufactured by Versapak with tamper evident features to indicate any interferences in the ‘chain of custody’ and the unauthorised access to the sample. It has been designed in accordance with the International Standard for Testing and Investigations (ISTI) for the conditions of tamper evident transport security of samples; once the uniquely supplied canister has been closed, access to the specimen jar is only possible by the breaking of the security components on the lid, ultimately preventing the container from being re-closed.
A wide range of physical and thermal techniques were used to attempt to open the canisters, and then to conceal the violation. The assessment covered the ease of tamper detection, the tool sophistication required to violate the sample, and the time taken to tamper with the contents. The consistency of the products was also examined.
The tamper evident assessment concluded that, based on the extensive tests executed, it was not possible to open the containers without evidence of tampering.
